Remembrance Day

Novemeber 11th is marked as the day we remember those who fought in the first and second World War, the Korean war and those who have served since then. By remembering their service, courage and sacrifice, we acknowledge our responsibility to work for the peace they fought so hard to achieve.

And so in Canadadian Doctor John McCrae´s words:

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Love and were loved, and now we live
In Flanders Fields

Take up our guard with the foe
To you from failing hands we throw
the torch; be yours to hold it high
If ye break forth with us who die
We shall not sleep though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields
